Concerned about the natural disasters that occurred in South Sulawesi, the Faculty of Animal Science together with the Hasanuddin University Emergency Response Team contributed by providing logistical assistance to victims of natural disasters (Monday, 6 May 2024). The Faculty of Animal Science provided food assistance in the form of meatballs produced by the Unhas Maiwa Breeding Center (MBC, Faculty of Animal Science business unit).
The Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science Unhas, Dr. Syahdar Baba, S.Pt., M.Si stated that for the first stage, the logistical assistance was in the form of 100 packs of meatballs for disaster victims in Luwu Regency, and he would continue to coordinate with the Unhas team in the field for other forms of assistance. Syahdar further hopes that this ready-to-eat food assistance can help deal with disaster victims in Luwu.
Hasanuddin University, through the Academic and Student Affairs Division, dispatched an Emergency Response Team to Luwu Regency consisting of 16 people, on Monday 6 May 2024 at 07.00 a.m. local time. The team led by the Head of the Unhas Center for Disaster Studies was released directly by the Rector of Unhas, Prof Dr Ir Jamaluddin Jompa MSc in the courtyard of the Rectorate Building. On this occasion, Prof. JJ said that the Unhas Emergency Response Team which will be on duty until May 11 is a form of Unhas’ concern for the natural disasters that occurred in South Sulawesi.
