The Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Hasanuddin, organized a Workshop on Academic Writing and Publication Quality Enhancement for Master’s and Doctoral Students on October 25–26, 2025, held at Unhas Hotel & Convention, Makassar.
The main objective of this workshop was to improve students’ scientific publication skills, enabling them to produce high-quality and reputable academic articles. Participants included Master’s students, Doctoral students, and academic supervisors from the Faculty of Animal Science.
Two distinguished speakers delivered insightful sessions: Prof. Dr. Halmar Halide, M.Sc., who presented “Finding the Right Journal and Avoiding Cloned Journal plus Responding to Peer Review Report,” and Prof. Ir. Andi Dirpan, S.TP., M.Si., Ph.D., who discussed “Introduction to Bibliometric Review or Bibliometric Analysis.”
Throughout the sessions, participants gained valuable knowledge and new insights into the scientific publication process, particularly regarding how to identify credible journals and avoid predatory publications. The workshop also provided practical guidance on manuscript preparation and effective peer review responses.
The two-day event featured interactive discussions and concluded with a group photo session.
Through this workshop, the Faculty of Animal Science aims to further enhance the publication quality of its postgraduate students and strengthen the academic reputation of Universitas Hasanuddin at both national and international levels.
