Animal Breeding and Genetic Laboratory

The Animal Breeding and Genetics Laboratory is one of the laboratories supporting learning and research activities for students and lecturers at the Faculty of Animal Science in particular and Hasanuddin University students and lecturers in general. This laboratory is responsible for the discipline of genetics and breeding for all types of livestock.

Since the establishment of the Genetics and Animal Breeding Laboratory, research activities have been grouped based on the type of animal being studied, then grouped again into main research programs which are outlined in the form of a research and development roadmap for the Genetics and Animal Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Hasanuddin University. The laboratory research roadmap includes research on local cattle, local goats, and local poultry (chickens, ducks and whistling duck).

Lecturers at the Animal Breeding and Genetics Laboratory have carried out overseas research collaborations (with Kobe University Japan, Miyazaki University Japan, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Japan), research collaborations with PTNBH (Padjadjaran University, Diponegoro University) and collaborations with the National Research and Innovation Agency.
