PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PT Vale) and the Faculty of Animal Science, Hasanuddin University initiate the partnership in cattle farmers’ empowerment through the FGD activity at Kawata Village, Wasuponda District, East Luwu Regency (Saturday, February 3rd, 2024). The FGD raised the theme “the Development of Integrated and Sustainable Livestock Program”.
The FGD was attended by 20 farmers, the faculty members team, the Community Development Team from PT Vale, official members from the local government, and the Chairman of the PT Hasanuddin Agrivisi Internusa (PT HAI).
Dean of the Animal Science Faculty, Dr Syahdar Baba led the activity and reported the success of the development program of Bali Cattle in Barru Regency as a comparative model that could be adopted and applied in East Luwu Regency area using local conditions as consideration. He also said, “This collaboration aims to improve the knowledge and skill of the farmers in managing their cattle business into the integrated and sustainable model”.
Meanwhile, the representative of PT Vale, Khairul, stated that the collaboration with the higher education institution is one of the enterprise’s commitments to develop the economic aspect of the community surrounding the operational area.
